Yellow fin whiting, one of the finest eating fish in the ocean, frequent the shallow, warm waters of the Franklin Harbour and the nearby beaches. Throw in a line to catch whiting, or South Australia’s prime King George whiting.
The warm waters also attract blue swimmer crabs and these legendary crustaceans are relatively easy to catch…drop a pot off the jetty nearby.
Oysters are also farmed in the Harbour. Available from the seafood producers in Cowell, add this delightful morsel to your ultimate seafood platter, pour a wine and watch an amazing sunset across the water.
